While pursuing employee friendly policies, Infosys' top management believed in the need for robust systems and processes, which could make activities measurable, repeatable, de-risked and, if possible, automated. Infosys believed that if the processes were right, the company could avoid nasty surprises. Individual geniuses were not needed to reach excellence. The process would take care of it.
